In my work I try to capture that mystery of the emerging meaning from the darkness, of looking down through layers. Of light captured before the sun goes down, and the pure fleeting pleasure of the moment.
In Indonesia, there is a story told to children about the flying monkey spirit that will visit at night to keep away the bad dreams. A very good reason to keep the window open on a warm night.
Six-color reduction linocut. During the cutting and layering, the plate is destroyed, so no additional prints can be made. Press-printed on Stonehenge white, oil-based relief inks. Edition of 15 hand-pulled prints.
