Calendar of events

We invite you to join us at these upcoming events:

First Thursday, October 2, 2014, 4-8pm, BOSCO Preview Night at Boise Art Museum

BOSCO members will be on hand demonstrating their techniques in the museum’s education studios.

While at BAM, view a video show of BOSCO participating artists’ work and get your free map for the 2014 studio tour.

Maps will also be available in The Boise Weekly’s October 8 issue.  BOSCO thanks partners Boise Art Museum and The Boise Weekly for supporting this year’s event.

Studio Tour, Saturday & Sunday, October 11 & 12, 2014

To visit an artist’s studio is to see the artist’s mind at work. Learn about the materials they use, find out what inspires them and see how both shape the resulting artwork.

Open Art Studios Tour, Saturday October 11 and Sunday October 12, 10am to 6pm. Some studios will be open on Friday the 10th, hours may vary, so check the studio tour map to verify.

37 artists are participating in this year’s Boise Open Studios Collective (BOSCO) Open Studios Weekend.

BOSCO members participate in Boise’s arts community in many ways- as teachers, as contributors to Boise’s Public Arts collections and through the Open Studios Tour, the goal of which is to serve as a bridge between artists and the public.

This free event allows the public to watch artists create in media as varied as assemblage, pottery, oil and acrylic painting, photography, glass, sculpture and mixed media.  Enjoy the 2014 BOSCO Passport program; during studio tour, visit a minimum of eight studios for a chance to win a piece of art from a BOSCO artist.

BOSCO is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to the visual arts. Established to promote and foster greater understanding of the creative process between artists and the general public our goals include:

  • Hosting open studios events for the public featuring a weekend-long opportunity to visit member artists’ studios
  • Providing a community for professional artists to share knowledge and ideas that enhance creative endeavors
  • Serving as a bridge between artists, collectors and the public.
