We invite you to join us at these upcoming events:
First Thursday, October 3, 4-8pm, BOSCO Preview Night at Boise Art Museum
BOSCO members Katherine Bajenova Grimmett (pencil), Theresa Burkes (printmaking), Julie Clemons (colored pencil and oilbar) and John Killmaster (TBD) will be on hand demonstrating their techniques in the museum’s education studios.
While at BAM, view a video show of BOSCO participating artists’ work and get your free map for the October 12-13 studio tour.
Maps will also be available in The Boise Weekly’s October 9 issue. BOSCO thanks partners Boise Art Museum and The Boise Weekly for supporting this year’s event.
To visit an artist’s studio is to see the artist’s mind at work. Learn about the materials they use, find out what inspires them and see how both shape the resulting artwork.
Open Art Studios Tour, Saturday October 12 and Sunday October 13, 10am to 6pm. Some studios will be open on Friday the 11th, hours may vary, so check the studio tour map to verify.
32 artists are participating in this year’s Boise Open Studios Collective (BOSCO) Open Studios Weekend.
BOSCO members participate in Boise’s arts community in many ways- as teachers (Sue Latta, Amy Nack, John Taye, John Killmaster, Tarmo Watia, Jerry Hendershot, Lisa Cheney, Lynn Fraley, David Scott, Sue Rooke); as contributors to Boise’s Public Arts collections (Lisa Cheney, Marianne Konvalinka, Rachel Teannalach, Amy Nack, Tarmo Watia, Sue Latta, Julie Clemons, Jaki Katz Ashford, Lauren Kistner) and through the Open Studios Tour, the goal of which is to serve as a bridge between artists and the public.
This free event allows the public to watch artists create in media as varied as assemblage, pottery, oil and acrylic painting, photography, glass, sculpture and mixed media. NEW for 2013 — the BOSCO Passport program. During studio tour, visit a minimum of eight studios for a chance to win a piece of art from a BOSCO artist.
