Jill Storey (pastel, graphite)

portrait_StoreyI have always had a great love of drawing.  I am continually fascinated by the way a drawing first rises up from its paper, then settles back down and pulls me into it.  I have drawn portraits for many years and, more recently, I’ve been exploring the forms, hues and textures of landscapes.  The clear light and ever-changing beauty of the West are constant sources of inspiration.  Pastel has long been my favorite medium for portraying both people and places because of its wonderful versatility of line and richness of color.  I also draw portraits in graphite.  My work has been included in the Art Source Gallery juried shows and is in private collections across the country.  I am currently a member of BOSCO and the Treasure Valley Artists’ Alliance.
