Pam McKnight (mixed media/assemblage)

After teaching elementary art for 25 years I am now concentrating on making my own art as a found object assemblage/mixed media/ collage artist. I have always had an interest in recycling, reusing and repurposing especially as related to art.
I have collected small cool stuff all my life and have worked with a wide range of art media as a former art teacher and now incorporate those items and skills into my current body of work aptly named ” Every Little Thing.”
Each found object assemblage contains multiple cast off items that no longer have an intrinsic value in and of themselves but after careful manipulation and juxtaposition of objects along with added details in a variety of media…someone else’s cast off junk is transformed into a piece of art to be enjoyed by the next generation.
I hold a BA in Art Education from Oral Roberts University, and an MA in Art and Museum Education from the University of North Texas. I am a former board member of BOSCO and have been in involved with the organization since 2012. I am also a member of the Gypsy Gallery, RAW Artists, founding board member of The Treasure Valley Artist Alliance (TVAA) and a juried member of Swell Artist collective. I am also a docent at the Boise Art Museum. My work has appeared on the cover of the Boise Weekly multiple times and my traffic box public art pieces can be seen on 9th St between Grove and Main and at Forest Service Park in Ketchum. My work can be seen by appointment, on my website or in many of the various pop up art shows around town. I have also partnered as a designer with VIDA:
